Everything you need to know about Kambo ceremonies and our services
What is Kambo?
+
Kambo is a secretion from the Phyllomedusa bicolor (giant monkey frog) that has been used by indigenous Amazonian tribes for centuries for its purging and cleansing properties. It contains powerful bioactive peptides that interact with the human body.
Is Kambo safe?
+
When administered by a trained practitioner with proper safety screening, Kambo is considered safe for most healthy adults. We conduct thorough health screenings before every ceremony and follow strict safety protocols.
What are the contraindications for Kambo?
+
Kambo is not recommended for people with serious heart conditions, who are pregnant or breastfeeding, who have had a stroke or brain hemorrhage, who are on certain medications, or who have certain other health conditions. We will review all contraindications during your safety screening.
What should I expect during a ceremony?
+
Each ceremony includes Sananga eye drops, Hape (sacred tobacco snuff), and Kambo application, accompanied by journey drumming and sound bowl meditation. The Kambo experience typically lasts 20-40 minutes and involves a purging process that is deeply cleansing.
How should I prepare for a Kambo ceremony?
+
You should fast for 10-12 hours before your ceremony, stay well hydrated in the days leading up to it, and avoid alcohol and unnecessary medications for at least 3 days prior. Visit our Prep and Aftercare page for detailed guidelines.
How often can I do Kambo?
+
This depends on your individual needs and goals. Some people benefit from a single session, while others may choose the 3 Day Kambo Reset or periodic ceremonies. We will help you determine the best approach for your journey.
Do you travel for ceremonies?
